Water and Wastewater Rate Changes Proposed for Fiscal Year 2010-2011

As part of the City of Longview’s FY 2010-2011 Budget Proposal, a rate change is proposed for water and wastewater services. If the rate proposal is approved, the new rates would be applied to water usage starting October 1, 2010. The effect of the rate changes on individual bills would differ based on two factors: meter size and water usage. The proposal does not include changes to sanitation rates.

Longview Chief of Police Announces Retirement

After 32 years with the Longview Police Department and 35 years total in law enforcement, Chief J.B. McCaleb announces that he will retire in January 2011. Chief McCaleb began with the department in 1979, and he has served as Chief of Police since 2003.
